Ohio Senior Farmers' Market Program
Fresh Fruit and Produce
The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded program.
SFMNP provides $50.00 in coupons that eligible older Ohioans can use to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from participating farmers. These coupons can be redeemed for fresh, unprepared, locally sourced fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey from farmers’ markets.
2016 Enrollment has begun. You can either download and print an application or request one mailed to you.
Many locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and honey are eligible for coupon use. Coupons do not entitle the holder to a special discount in price for the items they choose to purchase.
Foods excluded include any processed food or foods grown outside of the State of Ohio. This includes many citrus fruits.
Flowers, potted plants, crafts, eggs, nuts, rice, popcorn, dried produce, dried herbs and baked items are not approved for purchase with the coupons.
