Our Responsibilities
In its planning and coordination role, the Area Agency on Aging performs the following functions:
- Develops a comprehensive and coordinated plan of services to meet the needs of the nearly 144,000 individuals age 60 and over in the four county area;
- Contracts with local service providers for direct services to older persons in local communities;
- Provides technical assistance to local service providers;
- Monitors and evaluates the work of local service providers;
- Advocates for the needs of older adults.
