How We Are Funded

One of twelve such agencies in the state, the Agency receives funding from the federal government through the Older Americans Act, administered by the Administration on Aging.
The Agency receives funding through the state Social Services Block Grant for home and community based services. Both the Older Americans Act funds and the Social Services Block Grant funds are administered by the Ohio Department of Aging. The Area Agency on Aging also receives funding from local governments to match funds from the federal and state governments.
The PASSPORT Program is funded under a Medicaid waiver from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The waiver program is administered by the Ohio Department of Aging under an agreement with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
